Abstract: Nowadays it’s a new trend for the FTZ spread towards airport. Superposition of free trade zone and airport brought new opportunities. On the basis of defining concept of airport free trade zone, we analyzed the differences among airport free trade zone, seaport free trade zone and airport economic zone. this article analized the adaptivities of industries and discussed the derivatives industry development trend in the context of free trade zone. According to the development of airport free trade zones in the world, six main industrial development patterns and two spatial patterns were Summarized for the airport free trade zone. we deduced that the airport free trade zone may have two trends as follows, firstly, there is a trend for the airport free trade zone to shift from trade-oriented and manufacturing-oriented zone to comprehensive and service-oriented zone,secondly,to shift from small-sized zone to urban-sized zone. Lastly, we proposed the prospects and development suggestions for the airport free trade zones in china.
