Abstract: Petrochemical industry is an important industry of national economy, and under current situation of domestic large-scale development of petrochemical industry, it is necessary to study its spatial organization deeply. Based on the distribution of petrochemical industry in urban agglomeration in the middle reach of Yangtze River, in order to investigate the spatial organization, this article analyzes its influential mechanism, problems valuation and developmental path through the space clustering, linear regression and other mathematical tools. Results show that the concentration degree of petrochemical industry is not high, as well as its development level in urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of Yangtze River. So the urban agglomeration needs to cultivate and expand industrial cluster to promote the reasonable layout production factors and strengthen the industrial competitiveness to speed up the urbanization.
