Abstract:

Financial capability is crucial for a country's competitiveness, and the effect of financial development on regional economic development has been a key issue for scholars and regional policymakers. A large strand of literature in geography, economics, and finance has already focused on and studied the influence of financial development on regional economic development. In the context of high-quality development, regional coordinated development has posed new demands for the supportive role of financial development, and the advancement of information technology has brought significant changes in the spatial pattern of financial development. These factors have argued for a deeper understanding of the impact of financial development on regional economic development from a geographical perspective. This paper aims to review the existing research from a geographical perspective. This will help clarify the current state of research in relevant fields and give suggestions for future research. Utilizing a literature review approach, this paper gathered and combined existing studies. Then, based on the premise and mechanism of how financial development could shape regional development and how financial development influenced regional economic development through the agglomeration effect, spillover effect, and border effect. Finally, this paper identified some important research gaps and offered promising directions for future research.

摘要：

金融是国家重要的核心竞争力，金融发展对区域经济发展的影响一直是学术研究和政策制定关注的重点话题。现有地理学、经济学和金融学等学科都关注到了金融发展对区域经济发展的影响，并开展了相关研究。在当前经济高质量发展的背景下，区域协调发展对金融发展的支持作用提出了新需求，而信息技术的进步也带来了金融发展格局的巨大变化，这都对从地理学视角深入理解金融发展对区域经济发展的影响提出了新要求。为此，从地理学视角出发，综述金融发展对区域经济发展影响的相关研究，以明晰相关领域的研究现状，并展望未来研究。使用文献综述方法，收集并整合分析现有研究，在论述金融发展对区域经济发展影响的前提条件和机制途径的基础上，从集聚效应、溢出效应和边界效应3个方面探讨金融发展的空间特征对区域经济发展的影响。最后，结合当前金融发展实际与区域经济高质量发展诉求对现有研究进行评述，并对未来研究进行展望。
