Abstract: There has been a long history and strong industrial base of design industry in the UK. Especially, London, the capital city of UK, is the world-leading capital of design industry. Based on institutional and cultural perspective, this paper discusses design industry's overall development and regional agglomeration in the UK. Statistical data were collected from the official website of UK design industry and other channels. It shows that support from British government and NGO is very important, and the same is true of good cultural environment for design education. Updating regeneration opportunity of most inner cities in the UK and resource elements converge do good to promoting the prosperity of London design industry. Currently, promotion of design industry should be strengthened from Chinese multi-level government, and more attention is needed to be paid to design and urban regeneration combination.

摘要： 设计业作为创意经济的重要组成部分，是增强国家竞争力和推动产业发展的战略工具。英国设计业发展历史长久、产业基础雄厚，首都伦敦更是享誉世界的设计之都。通过文献阅读和信息检索获得英国设计业发展资料，基于制度和文化双重视角对英国设计业整体发展和地区集聚展开研究。英国政府完备的宏观产业政策、非政府组织的支持与相关机构的配套是英国设计业发展的基础，教育文化和消费文化环境是支撑；更新再生的契机、资源要素的汇聚是伦敦设计业持续繁荣的保障。中国正处于产业转型机遇期，要从国家层面加强设计业的统筹规划并分级指导；积极发展现代服务业和高新技术产业；完善设计教育设施。在地区层面要将设计业与城市更新再生相结合。
