Development and enlightenment of UK design industry: an institutional and cultural perspective 2015, 24(01): 19-28.  Abstract ( )   PDF (483KB) ( )   There has been a long history and strong industrial base of design industry in the UK. Especially, London, the capital city of UK, is the world-leading capital of design industry. Based on institutional and cultural perspective, this paper discusses design industry's overall development and regional agglomeration in the UK. Statistical data were collected from the official website of UK design industry and other channels. It shows that support from British government and NGO is very important, and the same is true of good cultural environment for design education. Updating regeneration opportunity of most inner cities in the UK and resource elements converge do good to promoting the prosperity of London design industry. Currently, promotion of design industry should be strengthened from Chinese multi-level government, and more attention is needed to be paid to design and urban regeneration combination. Geopolitical Environment and the Cooperation of Transboundary River of China and Southeast Asia 2015, 24(01): 29-37.  Abstract ( )   PDF (531KB) ( )   This paper analyses the situation of the cooperation of transboundary river between China and Southeast Asia from the geopolitical environment perspective. China and Southeast Asia cooperate closely in hydropower development，electric power trade， international channel， environmental protection of the four transboundary rivers. The cooperation of transboundary river between China and Southeast Asia has several problems such as the prospect is not optimistic, the pursuit of self-interest, water disputes, environment , immigration , ethnic and so on. Then focuses on the geopolitical environment impacts upon the cooperation of transboundary river. We can take these measures to optimize the geopolitical environment so as to promote the cooperation of transboundary river ：properly handle the sovereignty dispute，fully play the role of the regional cooperation organization，improve the public opinion environment，deal with the equilibrium strategy of Southeast Asia and the power intervention，set up the transboundary river cooperation mechanism，attention to sustainable development. The basic conclusions are: (1)The transboundary river have rich geo-economic and geo-political implications ; (2)The cooperation of transboundary river between China and Southeast Asia adequately developed, but there are still many problems ; (3)The geopolitical environment is an important fator affecting the cooperation of transboundary river that it has positive and negative influence on the cooperation; (4)China's strategic choice is that to promote the cooperation of transboundary river through optimizing the geopolitical environment. Threshold Standard and Global Distribution of High-Density Cities 2015, 24(01): 38-45.  Abstract ( )   PDF (557KB) ( )   Study on high-density city is meaningful for practical issues since cities in the world were growing more and more high-density. Based on statistical data of 1513 cities with more than 500,000 population in year 2012 by Demographia, standard and global distribution of high-density cities were studied, the results indicate: Firstly, the standard of high-density city should be about 15,000 person per square kilometer, higher than this level city show “high-density” features which include land use, street and building, and transportation. Secondly, high-density cities are mainly distributed in developing countries which charaterized with lower industrialization, lower urbanization and larger population. Thirdly, high-density causes of developed country and developing country are different, as developed country is mainly caused by re-urbanization and developing country mainly by urbanization. Finally, several suggestions for further studies were given which include residential model, traffic management, resource distribution, public health, green space and so on. The National Spatial Planning of Randstad in Netherland and The Instructions to Chinese Territorial Planning 2015, 24(01): 46-51.  Abstract ( )   PDF (593KB) ( )   The Randstad in Netherland is the success paradigm of preparation and implementation of spatial planning, and it is the typical example of an international multi-center urban agglomerations. By using literature analysis, this paper reviews the spatial planning process of the Randstad, summarizes the main space management practices, analyzes the spatial structure and layout features of the area. We should use experiences of spatial planning in the region, establish of a unified main spatial planning system, draw ecological protection red strictly, plann the land and sea as a whole to achieve co-ordination development, optimize the layout of urban agglomerations to build China's "Randstad "urban cluster. In recent years, the development momentum of international port appears to transform from comprehensive trade and logistics center to league of port. From the aspect of harbor city relationships, the leading role of Durban is better and appears a consistently rising trend. Therefore, this paper choose Durban as an example, use the method of literature review, data comparison and thematic map analysis in seeking the influence of harbor to city and the spatial variation of inner city structure. Research on Spatial Pattern and Mechanism of Urban Land Intensive Use in China in the Period of New Urbanization 2015, 24(01): 60-67.  Abstract ( )   PDF (661KB) ( )   Based on the connotation of urban land use intensity, this paper from using intensity ,input level and output benefit three aspects constructs the evaluation system of urban land intensive utilization, and selects 287 urban as the research unit to analyzes the pattern and mechanism of Chinese urban land intensive utilization in 2011.The results show that: Chinese urban land use intensity present a decreasing trend from east to west; the level of urban land use intensity in coastal areas, the "T" word shaft areas and along the Yangtze River valley areas is higher than their surrounding urban areas. The spatial agglomeration of horizontal distribution of urban land use intensity is obvious, intensive use cities and moderate use cities present a dotted and interval distribution, low use cities and extensive use cities present a planar and continuous distribution. Overall, the level of Chinese urban land use intensity is still relatively low; This mechanism analysis comes down to four factors (economic factor, ecological factor, social factor and technology factor), and points out that the basic way to improve the level of urban land intensive utilization is to perfect the existing system. Relation of Urbanization and Industry Structure Development and Regional Difference in Chongming county 2015, 24(01): 85-93.  Abstract ( )   PDF (723KB) ( )   Based on the main changing characteristics in each stage about development of industrial structure and urbanization, this article makes some correlation analysis between urbanization and industrial structure of Chongming county from 1978—2012 by using SPSS. The result shows that the correlation during 2001—2012 is apparently higher than that in 1978—2000 firstly. Next, using urbanization response to the industrial structure to analyst the regional distribution pattern of Chongming county. Then, this paper explicates the factors which influenced the development of industry structure and urbanization by applying the mutually prompt law of urbanization and industrialize, the law of the changes of industrial structure and the law of urbanization development. Finally, this article puts forward harmonious strategy on the relation of urbanization and the changes of industrial structure from the Angle of industry, space and ecological in Chongming county. The Opportunities and Challenges of China`s Petroleum Extraction Industry Outward Direct Investment 2015, 24(01): 94-102.  Abstract ( )   PDF (724KB) ( )   China`s energy consumption has a large growth and has become the world largest energy consumer along with the fast-growing economy. The domestic oil production and imported oil can no longer satisfy China`s oil demand. Under this circumstances, investing in overseas oil industry is a solution need to be considered. This paper analyses the investment characteristics of energy industry, especially focuses on the industry background and investment pattern of China`s energy enterprise world-wide direct investment. By analyzing statistics from China`s Outward Foreign Direct Investment Bulletin, China Global Investment Tracker and BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2013, the result can be concluded as two points: the opportunities and the challenges. China`s energy enterprises would benefit from: ①Government going-out policy, a national-level guide for outgoing direct investment. ②The massive foreign exchange, which ensure the capital to invest abroad. ③The appreciation of the RMB that enable Chinese enterprises purchasing more asset by the same sum of capital.④Some transnational energy companies are attenuated by the financial crisis and willing to sell their quality assets. However, the unstable of oil exporting countries, the bias of the Western and the limit of transport are the main challenges that China`s energy enterprises have to overcome. Several suggestions are provides in this paper: ①Assist less developed oil exporting countries by construct infrastructure and offer employment to integrate local environment. ②Cooperate with western transnational energy companies to reduce the pressure from the west and learn from their advanced management. ③Diversify the oil importing channel by construct oil and gas pipeline from northeast, northwest and southwest of China. Spatial Location Patterns Analysis of New Foreign Firms in Shanghai 2015, 24(01): 103-112.  Abstract ( )   PDF (775KB) ( )   The characteristic of spatial location patterns and their factors of new foreign firms in Shanghai City are analyzed by spatial econometric methods. The results shows that, most of new foreign firms in Shanghai are from 6 industries, which incudes wholesale and retail trade industry, manufacturing, Tenancy and Business Services and so on. The new foreign firms of 5 industries present a “center-agglomeration, periphery-dispersing” phenomenon with different degrees. At the same time, the spatial location patterns of firms of 6 industries are related with “distance with airport”, which is a traditional factor. Study on cruise economy development of estuarine harbor city: Taking Nanjing as an example 2015, 24(01): 113-122.  Abstract ( )   PDF (698KB) ( )   Now the Asia Pacific region has become the focus of the development of cruise industry of the world, the construction and development of China's cruise port showing a positive trend of the hitherto unknown. The international experience shows that as a special port city, estuarine harbor city has many advantages for the development of cruise economy, such as history and culture of a city, the rich unique tourism resources and products, mature water and land transport hub, developed related industry and comprehensive service. The study uses the SWOT- PEST analysis method, analyzed condition of cruise economy development of Nanjing that is the typical estuary port city in our country. And the response countermeasures of major constraints are discussed, which are about cruise terminal and service facilities conditions, soft environment of policies and culture, regional port competition. Therefore, the development pattern of Nanjing cruise economy is put forward, which is that Nanjing cruise economy should highlight the characteristics of the estuary harbor, select integrated "Cruise City" development model and government-led multi-management operations and focus on the strategic development of the industrial and port alliances. Study of manufacturing industry regional specialization in Yunnan province 2015, 24(01): 123-129.  Abstract ( )   PDF (742KB) ( )   For a long time, manufacturing industry is an important engine for the new industrialization process and economic development in Yunnan province, and the specialization which is good at unleashing scale economic effection, advancing production efficiency and improving industrial structure will be an important approach of developing manufacturing industry under further promoting the Strategic Bridgehead in Yunnan province. Based on the regional specialization coefficient of Fan Fuzhuo and the data of the second economic census, this paper analyses the current situation of regional specialization of manufacturing industry in Yunnan province from regional and industrial aspects. The conclusion show: The level of manufacturing industy regional specialization is low in Yunnan province and in manufacturing industry developed regions,but is high in manufacturing industry undeveloped regions; Geographical conditions amd industry scale and characteristics are the important factors which influence manufacturing industry regional specialization level. Furtherly, based on the geographical conductions, resource endowments and cities’size, the issue put forward a series of reasonable styles of manufacturing industry specialization in order to provide theoretical and practical basis for new industrialization process and economic development in Yunnan province. Review and Prospect of Cruise Tourism Research——Commentary on the English journal articles 2015, 24(01): 130-139.  Abstract ( )   PDF (724KB) ( )   Although cruise ship was initiated in the early 19th century, the real cruising carrying tourists did not taken place until the mid-nineteenth century. From being the preferred mode of travel for the world’s social elite and affluent in its inception, cruise tourism has become nowadays a truly mass-market phenomenon. The study on the cruise tourism abroad began in the 1960s and has accumulated so far a very rich research results, the relevant theories and research methods are becoming gradually mature. In contrast, the cruise tourism industry in China is still in its infancy and the relevant studies have lagged far behind. In order to present a scientific reference for promoting the healthy development of the cruise tourism industry in China and urging Chinese scholars to participate in the related studies, the mainstream bibliographic databases were systematically queried, leading to a collection of 225 cruise tourism-related academic publications published between 1961 and 2012. Based on extensive synthesis of previous studies, this paper systematically summarized the achievements in theories, perspectives, methods and practices obtained by foreign scholars. Overall, international academic, especially in the developed western countries, has developed a completed research system, detailed research contents, advanced research methods and fruitful research achievements for cruise tourism. However, the analysis in terms of its contents and meta-data do reveal that the international cruise tourism research has still existed same limitations. Future research is proposed in this paper should concentrate on the following aspects such as the development of emerging markets, the authentic experience of cruise visitors, innovation of service models, local real impacts of cruise tourism, and security and safety of cruise tourism. Study on the Spatial Distribution of Beijing Time-honored Brand Caterings and its Influencing Factors 2015, 24(01): 150-158.  Abstract ( )   PDF (833KB) ( )   Beijing Time-honored Brand caterings are not only the famous food brands, but also the important cultural landscape and city card. Study on the spatial distribution of Beijing Time-honored Brand caterings and its influencing factors, it aimed to provide advices for optimizing the urban caterings patterns, developing the Time-honored Brand caterings, and protecting cultural heritages. Based on the investigation of Time-honored Brand caterings in Beijing, the spatial features of the caterings were summarized with the methods of statistical analysis, GIS spatial analysis, comparative analysis and factor analysis. With the analysis of the spatial distribution of cuisines and catering classes, it concludes that Beijing Time-honored Brand caterings in the central city develop more mature, in the peripheral city develop relatively slow; the more close to the city center, distribution density of Time-honored Brand caterings is higher, quantity of caterings brands is greater. As a whole, Beijing Time-honored Brand caterings develop in an unbalanced way, and they are aggregating in the central city, at the same time they are scattered in the periphery, and their quantities decrease generally from the center to the periphery as a development circle. The distribution of Beijing Time-honored Brand caterings is correlated to many factors, which include caterings birthland, civic culture tradition, social reform, tourism development, urban development and expansion, regional economy and so on. A Research of Tourism Landscape Resources evaluation and protection for Bogda world natural heritage site 2015, 24(01): 159-167.  Abstract ( )   PDF (839KB) ( )   Bogda is an important part of the Xinjiang Tianshan World Natural Heritage, according to the classification principle of Tourism Resources Classification, Investigation and Evaluation (GB/T18972-2003), Bogda tourism geological landscapes are composed of 2 main facts, 9 inferior kinds, 18 basic types, and a total of 123 tourism geological scenic spots. Premium tourism geological landscape resources includes vertical natural zones, fold landscape, fossil relics, convex peak, cluster-peak, stone forest, waterfalls, glaciers sightseeing. The excellent grade geological landscape resources includes fault landscapes, joint landscapes, stratigraphic sections, strange and pictographic rocks, canyons, yadan, glacier erosion sites, sightseeing recreation sections, sightseeing recreation lakes, cold spring. Based on the qualitative evaluation of tourism geological landscape resources, the article puts forward some corresponding protective measures to glaciers, water, geological landscapes and geological relics, biological diversity and its habitats, and the ancient fossils. Comparative Study on Space-time Distribution of Comment Authors of Netnews on Different Comprehensive Portal Website Homepage——a case study on Sina and NetEase 2015, 24(01): 168-176.  Abstract ( )   PDF (821KB) ( )   Under the effect of information and communication technologies, especially internet technology, the traditional research of geographic space which includes space form, geography things and time-space distribution regularities has changed. In order to study time-space distribution regularities of information dissemination in cyberspace，we proposed a new research method through news commentators' location information. Because Sina and NetEase both provided more accurate news commentators' location information, we chose them to carry out further study. In practical terms, we selected the same news in Sina and NetEase homepages’ important news section as the research object and analyzed the space-time distribution of comment authors and its influential factors. This research indicates that: ①The space-time distribution difference of news commentators in Sina and NetEase is very huge. ②Whether it is for Sina or NetEase, Spatial diffusion of news commentators are the diffusion model of scattered –point during the initial period, which means that it can quickly spread to several parts of the country in a very short time. After this initial period，spatial diffusion of news commentators then presented the diffusion model of non-full fills diffusion, which means that with the involved area is increasing,the most of the provinces in the final did not achieve full coverage. The space distribution of news commentators is not in line with the range attenuation law in traditional geographic, featured with crossing the space length in reality. ③Spatial distribution of news commentators is imbalance, namely the existence of a typical regional differences. The imbalance is not only existing among the four regions or the different provinces，but also includes diffusion index and number of news commentators.④Fictitious cyberspace is not the hyperspace that is completely isolated from the actual geographical space.The provinces distribution of news commentators on Sina or NetEase has geographic embeddedness and internet users, GDP and urban population are important factors affecting provinces distribution. ⑤There are many significant factors that influence the space-time distribution of comment authors such as website platform，behavioral habit of Internet users，time and internet equipments.
