Security Evaluation of Oil Resources and Measures on Safeguard
    2017, 26(04): 11-19.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (466KB) ( )
Since 1990’s, resources security has been caused serious concern of scholars because it is influenced by many factors, some of which are hard to be controlled by our country. Oil resources plays an important role in the development of a country’s military, economy and society. So far, the external dependence of oil resources has exceeded 60%, therefore it can be regarded that oil resources supplying security is a significant part of geo-security. Base on the narrow comprehension of resources security, the article points out that the security of oil resources is our country’s ability to control risks brought about by a variety of emergencies—the stronger the ability goes, the securer oil resources is. Accordingly, a new resources security evaluation index system, which includes three index layers (risk factors, risk control and resources security), and evaluation method are proposed. Next, oil resources security index, supplying security index, payment security index, geo-security and transportation security index in the past 15 years are got through calculating related statistical data. The result shows the achievements and problems of oil resources security during this period. Finally, to increase the security of oil resources, some measures on safeguard are proposed from the aspects of resources-oriented diplomacy, energy-related infrastructure construction and cooperation in resources exploring.

    2017, 26(04): 20-30.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (539KB) ( )
Employing the micro data on China’s FDI in the United States from 2001 to 2014, a negative binomial regression model is performed to examine the effects of country-of-origin agglomeration and local industrial agglomeration on the location choice of Chinese enterprises. Findings indicate that there exists significant positive relationship between the country-of-origin agglomeration and the location choice of Chinese enterprises’ direct investment, which indicates that the location choice of the same industry is positively correlated with the China’s previous investments of the industry in a particular state. Also, there exists significant positive relationship between the local industrial agglomeration and the location choice of Chinese enterprises, which indicates that the larger the local concentration degree of a specific state is, the higher the possibility that China’s enterprises invest in the state is.

Evolution characteristics and spatial differentiation of regional economic differences in the European Union since the middle of 1990s
    2017, 26(04): 31-39.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (647KB) ( )
As the world's second largest economy, the European Union has already experienced a short but fast growth in the middle and later period of 1990s,which affected its regional internal economic significantly. Illustrated by the 28 members of the European Union, this paper analyzed the evolution characteristics of regional economic disparity since the middle of 1990s by using the decomposition of Theil index, and explored the different spatial patterns of evolution by using inverse distance weighted interpolation method. The results were summarized as followed:(1)During the period from 1995 to 2015,the Theil index of the economic development presented an overall upward trend, which meant the regional disparities were being expanded. The regional differences of evolution can be divided into three stages:the slow-down stage of low difference from 1995 to 1999,the slow-down stage of high difference from 2000 to 2008,and balanced development stage from 2009 to 2015;(2)The between-groups Theil index of the economic development showed an overall stable fluctuated and declined slightly, but the extents and trends were varied in different periods. The evolution of the difference between groups can be divided into three stages:the expansion phase of regional differences from 1995 to 2000,the narrowing phase of regional differences from 2000 to 2009,and the expansion phase of regional differences from 2009 to 2015. The difference of regional economy tended to be a stable equilibrium state in the Northern Europe, while that of being gradually narrowed in differences in the Southern Europe region and the Central Europe. In the Eastern Europe, the economic differences between groups can be divided into four stages, which were expansion, steady, shrinking and smooth. And the economic differences between groups in the Western Europe can be divided into two stages: slow-down,balanced development;(3)The regional different pattern in the European Union is changing from polarized development to the balanced spatial pattern. And the change is not significant, presented an overall regional economic spatial pattern that gradually decreased with three circles:the Western Europe lies in the first circle, the Northern and Southern Europe are in the second circle, and the Eastern and Central Europe are in the third circle. This paper provides a theoretical supplement to the progress of regional economic differences in the European Union, and provides a practical guidance for the Chinese economic to enter the aforementioned economy development stages.

India's international competitiveness and the development trend of foreign trade in goods
    2017, 26(04): 40-48.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (584KB) ( )
This paper first analyzed the current situation of Indian goods trade from the total volume of goods trade and goods trade structure. Then through the application of revealed comparative advantage index and trade competitive edge index, it studied the international competitiveness of Indian goods trade, which indicates that primary commodities such like food and alive animals and labor intensive products are the major competitive goods of India in international competition. Therefore there are four distinct features of Indian goods trade development trend within a short period. Firstly, Indian major goods trade partners won’t change much. China will remain to be the largest trade partner of India. Secondly, the main business area won’t change much. Northeast Asia, ASEAN and GCC are still the center of Indian trading. Thirdly, the principal export commodity structure may experience a relatively big change. But the principal import commodity structure won’t change much. Fourthly, the primary commodity and labor intensive products will still be competitive in international competition. Finally, this paper provided two suggestions to relevant China’s enterprises in terms of the influence that Indian goods trade development may exert to China.

Spatial Heterogeneity in Source of Regional Innovation in Chinese Provinces
    2017, 26(04): 134-143.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (766KB) ( )
Based on Chinese economic census data, the geographic weighted regression model is used to study the influence of regional innovation source factors on regional innovation performance and its spatial heterogeneity. The results show that the most important source of regional innovation in China is indigenous R&D. Among other sources of innovation, domestic technology transfer and absorption also have positive effects on regional innovation. Effects of international technology transfer, export and FDI are generally negative. In different provinces, the impacts of innovation factors on the regional innovation performance are spatially heterogeneous. The results of geographic weighted regression reveal that the spatial characteristics of the influence of innovation factors on regional innovation generally demonstrate gradient transfer from the eastern developed regions to the western regions. In the eastern and central regions, indigenous R& D has become a major source of innovation, the role of which on regional innovation is more favorable and significant, while in the western region, innovation sources except for indigenous R& D, domestic technology transfer and absorption still play an important role. Geographic weighted regression method is proper tool to identify the spatial heterogeneity of the effects.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (750KB) ( )
Researches on geographical somaesthetic focus on sensory perception to the beauty of body, and appreciating the beauty, function and value of body. Firstly, it reviews the origin, development, formation and connotation of geographical somaesthetics; Secondly, it illustrates the research methods of somaesthetics, such as body first, Psychoanalysis, perception and expression; Thirdly, it analyzes the practice of somaethetics’ basic beauty and wisdom extension, spatial and time characteristics, and the relationship with culture spirit and environment; Finally, it investigates the subject property, research focus, research objectives from disciplinary perspective and predicts the prospect of geographical somaesthetics. The research findings are as follow: First, geographical somaesthetics emphasize on body state and living style, on harmony between human natural beauty and social beauty, on individual physical value and code of conduct, on the proper guidance, regulating, training and improvement of somaesthetics, make it closer to practice. Second, geography combines the view of "local" and" representation and non characterization" through emotional geography, cultural geography, and behavioral geography, in the early 90s of the 20th century, the new cultural geography category reveals the connotation of Body Aesthetics: people as a cultural behavior subject and local interactions with formation of belonging and ultimately the formation of "local" the Cultural District, somaesthetics and the new cultural geography intersection in the meaning of body culture studies. Third, in the process of body-molding, there exist some local and time differences in somaesthetics. Under the influence of different spatial and time background, social cognition and aesthetic factors are changing. When people are combined with different environment and local emotion, the difference in local complex and the characteristics of the times will bring different cognition on the body, which formed the body-molding differences. Geographical somaesthetic also enriches the content of human geography.
