Abstract: As important player within international energy system, Russia, EU and America play important role in energy field. But owing to different energy structure and goal of development, their energy strategy also work differently. Energy cooperation between Russia and EU can go back to cold war, and at present, their relations are closely bound up with energy. However, with strategic horizon from global geopolitics, America is not willing to observe consolidation of energy relations between Russia and EU. As the “third party”, America keeps highly vigilant. This article starts from current situation, analyses the role of America in energy relations between them, and concludes that its aim is to split off relations between Russia and EU.
