Abstract:

Space syntax is one of the most important theoretical innovations in architecture and spatial research in the 20th century. This paper utilizes CiteSpace and Bibliometric methods to analyze "space syntax" in geography from the core collections of Web of Science and CNKI core journals, providing a summary of current developments. We identify the key characteristics of Chinese and international researches on the space syntax of geography, further highlighting major research themes. It is found that international research on space syntax began earlier and has grown steadily, with most publications originating in developed countries. The research on space syntax in Chinese geography started relatively late, with a smaller number of large-scale research teams, though publications have also risen in recent years. In international academia, the journals featuring space syntax research have higher academic influence, though citation rates per paper are relatively low. In China, the average citation frequency of papers is significantly higher than the journals' impact factor, it shows that space syntax has received high attention and the significant potential for future development. In terms of research topics, the international geography mainly focuses on urban morphology, urban transportation (pedestrian transportation), space and safety and methodology. In China, researchers mainly focused on morphological analysis of different scales (urban-rural-architecture), transport geography, space and safety, and tourism geography. Overall, the studies of space syntax in international geography focus on urban transportation and urban morphology, with attention to methodological innovation. In China, the research perspective mainly concentrates on urban scale, while the empirical research and theoretical exploration on rural and architectural scale need to be strengthened.

空间句法是20世纪建筑和空间研究领域最重要的理论创新之一。本文运用CiteSpace和Bibliometric文献计量分析方法，以Web of Science核心合集和中国知网（CNKI）核心期刊地理类的“空间句法/space syntax”主题文献为对象，通过对论文发表的基本信息、研究学者与关键词共现的分析，总结国际、国内地理学空间句法研究的总体概况，并进一步对主要研究议题进行梳理总结。研究发现，国外地理学对空间句法的研究起步较早，近年来文献数量逐步上升，发文以发达国家（地区）为主；国内研究起步较晚，研究团队数量少，近年来发文量呈现上升趋势。国际前五发文期刊的学术影响力较高，但相关成果的平均被引频次较低；国内相关成果平均被引频次突出，表明其高关注度及巨大的发展潜力。在关注议题方面，国外主要聚焦于空间形态、城市交通（步行交通）、空间与安全、方法论等方面；国内主要关注不同尺度（城市-乡村-建筑）的形态分析、交通网络与可达性、空间与安全、旅游可达性与旅游感知等议题。总体而言，国外地理学的空间句法研究以城市交通与形态为核心，同时注重方法论的探索与创新；国内相关研究主要聚焦于城市尺度，对于乡村、建筑尺度的研究及方法论探讨均有待加强。
