Spatial evolution and mechanisms of ultra-high-definition video industry in Guangzhou City

Abstract:

As a strategic pillar industry, the ultra-high-definition video industry in Guangzhou City has developed rapidly and has attracted widespread attention. Drawing upon the theory of evolutionary economic geography, this paper uses kernel density analysis and the standard deviation ellipse method to analyze and explore its development process, spatial distribution characteristics and mechanism of Guangzhou's ultra-high-definition video industry. The results show that: ① ultra-high-definition video industry in Guangzhou has gone through three stages: the pre-path creation stage, and the path creation stage and the path dependence stage. ② The spatial distribution of Guangzhou's ultra-high-definition video industry has temporal and spatial differences, and has formed a spatial distribution pattern with Tianhe District and Huangpu District as the core. Among them, the key links of network transmission and content production in the industrial chain have been mainly concentrated in Tianhe District. ③ Leading enterprises, multi-level governments and technological innovation have played important roles in the spatial distribution of the ultra-high-definition video industry in Guangzhou City. By studying Guangzhou's strategic pillar industries, this paper enriches the research on evolutionary economic geography theory and the notion of path creation and provides suggestions for the cultivation of strategic pillar industries in emerging economies.

摘要：

作为战略性支柱产业，广州市超高清视频产业迅猛发展，并受到广泛关注。基于演化经济地理学理论，以广州市超高清视频产业为案例，使用核密度分析法和标准差椭圆法，对该产业的发展过程、空间分布特征及其影响机制进行分析。结果表明：①广州市超高清视频产业经历了路径创造前期阶段、路径创造阶段和路径依赖阶段3个阶段。②广州市超高清视频产业空间分布具有时空差异性，已经形成了以天河区和黄埔区为核心的空间分布格局。其中，超高清视频产业链中的网络传输与内容制作等关键环节主要集中在天河区。③领先企业、多层级政府、技术创新对超高清视频产业的空间演化具有重要影响。通过对广州市超高清视频产业进行研究，可丰富演化经济地理学理论和路径创造的相关研究，还可为广州市等新兴经济体中的城市与地区在培育战略性支柱产业方面提供参考和借鉴。
