The hotspots and evolution of the study of the United States in Chinese geography

Abstract

Abstract:

This paper analyzes 397 research articles on American geography published in Chinese geography journals since 1983, using NoteExpress and CiteSpace software for quantitative analysis. The findings show that there are relatively few publications on American geography, but research has been accelerating since 2000. Research strength is uneven, and cooperation networks are generally scattered. Topics of focus include comparisons between China and the United States, geopolitics, economic development and industrial layout, urbanization, and land use planning. The field has undergone four stages of development. Research on economic and trade relations between China and the US, as well as science and technology innovation, have emerged as popular research topics. While the content of research is varied, some areas require further investigation.

摘要：

文章以1983年以来我国地理学界关于美国地理研究的文献为数据样本，综合运用NoteExpress、CiteSpace等工具进行计量分析。研究结果显示：我国地理学界有关美国的研究文献呈现出以下特点：研究数量总体较少，2000年之后，研究步伐整体加快；研究力量参差不齐，合作网络总体较为分散；研究热点主要集中在中美比较研究、地缘政治研究、经济发展与产业布局研究以及城市化与土地利用规划研究；脉络演进可划分为四个阶段；研究内容丰富多样，但部分研究领域缺乏更深入的研究；中美经济贸易研究和技术创新是研究的新趋势。
